I had an application called "Trailer film"  version 2.0.2 that provides trailer for movies and streaming sites. I went in settings, then apps then selected the app then went to "app details in store" and it could no longer find the app in the Google store.

I would like to know why would a app be removed from the Google store? Does the developer have to perform some function to keep the app avaialble? I know some apps are never updated yet remain in the app store. Is there notification that informs a user that the client is no longer available?

No It is not there. The name of the App is "trailer film"

The question still stands

I would like to know why would a app be removed from the Google store? Does the developer have to perform some function to keep the app avaialble? I know some apps are never updated yet remain in the app store. Is there notification that informs a user that the client is no longer available?

I found another app on my android phone that is not listed in the App store anymore. I only use google store and never installed any direct .apk files.

The application is notes version 1.56 and is a note app that has biometric access to the notes. I noticed that the app has a feedback link to "tonote.github.io".

You will noticed that the last enclosed image of the three, shows what appears when i click on "App detais in the store"

I am interested in finding why it is no longer on Google?

Was malware identified and if so I would expect Google to notify users. If the developer removed it it should be equaly easy to notify users of the app. I am not able to find any information identifying why an app and in my case 2 apps where removed.

Nope applications get removed when they are no longer supported or updated by the developer. If you use an older device you'll get support.

So it is acceptable for Google to remove an app for possibly having malware and not notify the users ?

The question I asked

is acceptable for Google to remove an app for possibly having malware and not notify the users ?

Do they have a notification for users ? Otherwise users could continue to use this malware app.

The only people that get notified is the developers. So yeah its acceptable.

Apps on android that are no longer in the store wont receive updates and a ui update will break it. It will no longer function.

Well to me it is not acceptable and unlike you crypoptondan I will provide a reason.

If Google finds malware on their app store and they remove because of malware they should provide a list of all apps name that contain malware so that the affected users can be aware and remove the malware from their phone. If a mechanism is not provided for a user to be notified of malware that has been removed from the Google store a user could continue using the software possible infecting other users.

This seems like a simple effort to maintain security by providing a list of apps removed becuase of malware.
